Dragon Trax’s Andy “Epicentre The Dragon” Stockton and Emily Socool have teamed up to co-curate this compilation EP of first-rate liquid drum & bass featuring artists from Sheffield, Vancouver and Edinburgh.

Yay Baby! is Socool and DJ Soo’s modern take on classic atmospheric jungle featuring syncopated drums, bright and airy synth work, and a playful sample they recorded of their daughter when she was playing Mario Kart.

Charla Green’s blazing transformation of Yay Baby! into a junglist anthem will leave you breathless with its intricate drum programming, classic old school basslines, and massive drops.

Uphonix’s Lost at Sea is the calm after the storm, a liquid drum & bass roller showcasing his trademark soulful piano melodies, deep and pulsing subbass, and crisp production.

Next, Uphonix offers his timeless drum’n’bass remix of Socool & JG Stockton’s contemporary trip-hop electronica Penumbra, released earlier this year on Dragon Trax.

Edward Spark closes the EP with the exquisite I Told You, an atmospheric drum & bass tune that evolves over gorgeous ambient pads.

About the artists:

Socool is a Vancouver-based producer of ethereal breakbeat music who echoes late 90’s trip hop and drum & bass vibes into her beautiful mutations. Her solo releases, remixes and collaborations have built a haunting sound world with inflections of dub, R&B and jungle.

DJ Soo has been a veteran of the Canadian West Coast scene for over two decades. DJ, producer, remixer, writer and party-rocker, Soo has mastered multiple disciplines in the DJ and production game.

Sheffield’s Charla Green is rapidly gaining recognition as a fierce DJ and production talent. Just within the last couple of years she’s collaborated with OG drum & bass legend Digital, performed at London’s world renowned Fabric as well as tearing dancefloors around the UK apart with her trademark heavy rolling jungle styles.

Breakbeat and drum & bass veteran Uphonix goes from strength to strength across all his projects, and is making a breakthrough in 2023 as both a distinctive producer and main-room DJ. So far this year Tom’s been booked to support both Randall and Doc Scott, whilst his Next Episode collaboration with Sheffield don Andy H is cooking up some serious junglist heat in the studio and live.

JG Stockton continues to develop his considerable production talents for Dragon Trax, bringing his clean electronica sound, strong melodies and awareness of dancefloor dynamics to bear on instantly appealing and compulsively listenable collaborative tracks.

Edward Spark is an electronic music producer and remixer based in Edinburgh. His layered productions elegantly combine influences of techno, hip hop and classic synth pop into punchy dance floor anthems.
